Lachi

It all started with a vision to serve fresh, delicious and authentic Indian Food to the Okanagan, similar to the fine quality and flavor packed dishes they had come accustomed to while growing up in the Punjab region of India. After losing his job at the local RV factory that he had worked for the past 30 plus years, Jaswinder, along with his wife Surinder Pal, decided to start a new chapter and venture by pursuing their passion for Indian food.

They started off by selling fresh samosas and Indian dishes out of their house, but soon realized that there they were unable to keep up with the demand due to limitations of their home kitchen. With the help and guidance of their son Jazz, they branched out and opened up a restaurant in the beautiful 500 block of downtown Penticton British Columbia. They have become known around the Okanagan for their delicious and fresh food, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and welcoming restaurant environment.

Prague Cafe
Free organic filter coffee with the purchase of apple strudel, carrot cake or gingerbread cake

Prague Cafe

Both Michal and Daniela were born and grew up in Prague. Initially, they came to Canada for a short time only, but later extended their stay and eventually changed their status to permanent residents. When they made the decision to stay they started thinking of a way to create a small oasis with the flavor of the city of their youth in Penticton. Thus the idea of opening a small but unique coffee shop was born. They used to spend a lot of time in the coffee shop Bean to the Beach, with its beautiful view of Okanagan Lake, and they liked the location very much. When one day the proprietor of the establishment told them of her intention to sell her business and return to her teaching profession, they considered it their chance to take the first step towards realizing their dream. They decided to go ahead and they bought the coffee shop.

A short while afterward while visiting Prague they gathered lots of ideas about décor, menu and good, old Czech recipes. At the beginning of 2014 they started some renovations and at the beginning of March they opened the doors. It is their goal that their customers will like their coffee shop. Hopefully the atmosphere and the goodies will help them to transcend the distance and feel, for a while at least, that they are in the centre of Europe. Their décor, menu, service and quiet classical background music will, they hope, be conducive to a pleasurable experience.

Please come and visit us. You will like the European flavour of our coffee, desserts and food.

Maison Mulnati
Our New Location Opening Soon: 221 Main St. Penticton

Maison Mulnati

Tired of the comfortable life as a psychologist and physiotherapist masseur, Céline and David decided to abandon their habits to open themselves to a life of the unexpected. Once their permanent residency had been granted, they returned to Canada in 2017 to the fabulous Okanagan Valley; the first step of a journey through the universe in which challenges and adventures are presented one by one. Their participation in the One World Festival in Penticton was the first time they shared their culinary work, which succeeded in seducing tasters and changing some people's minds about vegan products. From there, a proposal emerged to create and cook an all-vegan menu for spiritual retreats (Susan Turner Healing Retreat, Tulameen, British Columbia): starters, main courses and desserts - from breakfast to dinner - while setting up their chocolate factory project. Céline and David create every day in a traditional way, replacing industrial mechanics with a gestural style filled with life. It is this energy of love that they put together in their creations, in order to share it with as many people as possible. They are a regular participant in the OneWorld Fesitval but are unable to take part this year as they are getting ready to move to a new location. You are encouraged to visit Maison Mulnati's new location when it opens soon at 221 Main st in Penticton!
